The 33-days shooting will wrap on 3 July 2019. The film features popular actors, including Zuzana Stivínová, Zuzana Kronerová and Iranian Golden Globe winner Leila Hatami. The release is planned for the first half of 2020.
The director´s inspiration was a story of his father´s friend, who fled Iran and lived for many years in Czechoslovakia. „Iranian cinema has never had a chance to talk about people who had to flee the country after the 1953 coup and the fall of Dr. Mosaddegh’s government. The film attempts to cast some light on a forgotten corner of history, where the fates of Czechoslovakia and Iran crossed,“ Mosafa said.
The film is produced by Mosafa and Czech production company i/o post and coproduced by Slovakia’s Arina Film and Czech company HYPERMARKET FILM.
„I am really glad Ali managed to fulfil his seven-year-old dream to shoot this film in Prague and I am very grateful to our partners, Silvia Panáková and Erik Panák from Arina Film and Filip Remunda from Hypermarket film, for their support, as well as to the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, the Prague Film Fund, the Creative Europe MEDIA programme and the Czech Film Fund, who supported the development of the film,“ i/o post producer Jordi Niubo told FNE.
