Karlovy Vary announces EFP and Variety Critics Choice

    European Film Promotion and Variety Critics' Choice have announced the ten titles chosen for the 11th year of the section at the Karlovy Vary film festival, running July 4-12. Seven of the films are debuts, with one film from Central Europe.

    The film are:

    According to Plan, a second feature by Franziska Meletzky (Germany) Arabian Nights, a debut film by Paul Kieffer (Luxembourg/Belgium/ Austria)

    Ciao bella, a debut by Mani Maserrat-Agah (Sweden)

    Don't Waste Your Time, Johnny!, a debut by Fabrizio Bentivoglio (Italy)

    Dunya & Desie, a third feature by Dana Nechushtan (The Netherlands/Belgium)

    Fermat's Room, a debut by Luis Piedrahita and Rodrigo Sopena (Spain)

    Fighter, a third feature by Natasha Arthy (Denmark)

    Half-Life, a debut by Vlado Fischer (Slovakia)

    The Homecoming, a debut by Vassilis Douvlis (Greece)

    The Killer, a debut by Cédric Anger (France)

    The section receives financial support from the Media Programme of the EU and the ten participating European Film Promotion countries. This year it is also supported by the HBO Czech Republic movie channel Cinemaxx. The directors will be in attendance to present their films, with the exception of The Fighter, which will be presented by actress Semra Turan, and The Killer, which will be presented by actor Gregoire Colin.
