source: Splendid PalaceRIGA: American actor Richard Gere has visited Riga on a diplomatic visit focused on raising awareness for Tibet.
A long-time practicing Buddhist and human rights activist, Gere met with members of the Latvian Parliament and also presented the documentary Wisdom of Happiness directed by Barbara Miller, Philip Delaquis, and Manuel Bauer, of which he is the executive producer alongside Oren Moverman.
The screening was held at Splendid Palace Cinema in Riga. Gere was accompanied in Latvia by Tencho Gyatso, President of the International Campaign for Tibet.
