VILNIUS: Following presentations at the European Film Market, and some 1,000 visitors to the Lithuanian film stand, Lithuanian films are finding more international attention.

Leading the way is Vanishing Waves directed by Kristina Buozyte. “We sold public screening rights of this film to distributors from Canada, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Taiwan,” said producer Ieva Norviliene (www.tremora.com).

The documentary Пoд колпаком – Under the Hood directed by Robert Dennis and Mark Byrne will premiere at the end of April in Toronto’s Hot Docs festival and has been sold to German television channel MDR.

Programmers from Amsterdam, Thessalonica, Locarno and Bergen were among those attending screenings of documentary films Igrushki directed by Lina Luzyte and Father directed by Marat Sargsyan, while professionals from Norway and Asia expressed interest in the documentary film Conversations on Serious Topics directed by Giedre Beinoriute.
