The Happiness of the World / Szczęście świata is set in an exceptional tenement house in Silesia, next to the Polish-German border, and focuses on its inhabitants, a beautiful Jewish woman Róża and three men infatuated with her: a Pole, a Silesian and a German. The film follows their lives from WWII to late fifties.
Lambros Ziotas produced the film through Argomedia in coproduction with Telewizja Polska, IF Silesia-Film, Państwowa Instytucja Kultury Centrum Technologii Audiowizualnych CeTA and D35, with a budget of 1.2 m EUR / 5.2 m PLN. The project received support from the Polish Film Institute.
After the premiere at the Gdynia Film Festival the film will start regular distribution but the name of the distribution company is not known yet.
Writer/director Michał Rosa is highly praised for his drama Scratches (Filmcontract Ltd).
