United States of Love, which Wasilewski also wrote, is set immediately after the fall of communism in Poland and follows three women, who desperately want to change their small-town lives. The Polish/Swedish coproduction was produced by Mañana in coproduction with Telewizja Polska with production financing from the Polish Film Institute.

The film premiered internationally at 2016 IFF in Berlin. It opened in Poland on 29 July 2016 distributed by Mañana with 43,991 admissions.

The film gained significant international interest with distribution in Demark, Romania, UK, Holland, Hungary, France and Greece. International sales are managed by Warsaw-based New Europe Film Sales.
