Adrian Sarbu to replace retiring CME CEO Garin

    Central European Media Enterprises (CME) announced that CEO Michael Garin is retiring to become vice chairman of the board of directors, and named Adrian Sarbu as President.

    The move takes effect January 1. Garin has been CME's CEO since 2004. Sarbu will retain his position as Chief Operating Officer when he moves into the CEO spot. Sarbu has been affiliated with CME since 1995, first through the company's Romanian stations, moving up to Regional Director in 2006 and COO in 2007.

    CME (www.cetv-net.com) operates 22 stations in seven countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Ukraine. It trades on Nasdaq and the Prague Stock Exchange as CETV.
