He was elected by the EFP (www.efp-online.com) members, replacing Pilar Torre, who left her office as Deputy Director General for Film Promotion at ICAA, Spain.
EFP's Board of Directors recently selected Éva Vezér, General Manager of (Magyar Filmunió, Hungary (www.hungarianfilm.com), as president. Karpiński, Polish Film Institute Deputy Director (www.pisf.pl), joins five additional EFP board members.
"With more and more members from Central and Eastern Europe joining EFP, I very much appreciate another representative from these countries on the Board," Vezér said in a statement. "We are pleased to welcome Maciej Karpiński from the Polish Film Institute with his ideas and commitment for this international platform."
Since the foundation of European Film Promotion in 1997, the number of EFP members has increased from 10 to 30 export and promotion organisations from 31 countries. The most newest member is the Macedonian Film Fund (www.filmfund.gov.mk ). EFP is financially supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union.

Maciej Karpiński, Deputy Director and Head of International Relations at the Polish Film Institute, has been elected as the new representative on European Film Promotion's (EFP) Board of Directors.
