The main competition consists of first, second or third feature films made after 1 January 2022. This year´s selection presents films from 13 countries.
In the international short film competition, which is a traditional part of the festival, 36 short films from around the world will be screened within six blocks.
The Golden Camera Award for a significant contribution to cinema will be received by the world-renowned Hungarian director Béla Tarr. Two of his films will be shown at the festival: the seven-and-a-half-hour magnum opus Satan's Tango / Sátántangó (1994), produced by MIT (Hungary) and coproduced by Von Vietinghoff Filmproduktion (Germany) and Vega Film (Switzerland), in association with Magyar Televizio (MTVA) and TV Suisse Romande, and Werckmeister Harmonies / Werckmeister harmóniák (2000) produced by 13 Prods (Hungary) in coproduction with Arte – GEIE (France), Studio Babelsberg (Germany), Goessfilm Ai Kft (Hungary), ZDF - Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (Germany), Magyar Televizio (MTVA, Hungary) and Rai3 (Italy).
A special in memoriam will be dedicated to Art Film Fest president Milan Lasica.
