Slovenia and Italy to Expand Coproduction Agreement Jožko Rutar

ROME: Slovenia and Italy are expected to finalize a bilateral agreement on film coproduction that would extend cooperation, currently on a regional level, to the national level.

According to the Italian news site ANSAmed, the agreement is in the final stages, after having been stagnant for more than five years. Slovenia’s Jozko Rutar and Italy’s Nicola Borrelli, both of whom oversee cinema activities in their Ministries of Culture, met in Rome to rewrite the draft version of the agreement, which will be signed by 15 December 2012.

Italy’s coproductions with its Central European neighbors have been undertaken primarily by the eastern-most region of Italy, which encompasses Venice and the Friuli region.
