Adana Golden Boll FF 2011: Country Problem

    The Turkish national competition at the Adana Golden Boll film festival (15-25 September 2011,www.goldenbollfilmfestival.com) will screen Country Problem, a film that had little impact on the box office. It was released on 31 December 2010 in Turkey, bringin in just 203,048 Turkish Liras and 22,699 admissions.

    {mosimage}Country Problem is Isa Yildiz's first film. He works with veteran actors Ahmet Ugurlu and Fusun Demirel. The film completed its shoot in summer 2010.

    Country Problem looks at the situation of a retired middle-aged teacher who is cursed and beaten by a police officer one day, but is unable to  prove it. Yildiz's film is both a social satire and an examination of the political and social ramifications of the situation.

    The film is produced by ACR Yapım (www.acryapim.com), a production company specializing in TV series, and is distributed by UIP (www.uip.com.tr).
