It was released theatrically in Turkey on 13 April 2012.

The film, which was shot on HD, is loosely based on Dostoyevski’s Notes from the Underground novel. It echoes the novel with the angle of looking into a Turkish writer’s mind. The cast’s main figure is Engin Gunaydin, a comedy actor known mainly from TV series.

Inside is the latest film by Turkish master director Zeki Demirkubuz whose filmmaking career stretches back over 20 years and is known, along with Nuri Bilge Ceylan, as one of the two main figures from the 1990’s arthouse films generation.

The film is produced by Demirkubuz’s own company Mavi film (www.zekidemirkubuz.com) and supported by Turkish Culture Ministy (www.sinema.gov.tr).
