    ADANA: Where is My Mother Tongue had its world premiere in the 2012 Istanbul Film Festival’s main competition.

    The film is a personal documentary about director Veli Kahraman’s grandfather and grandmother. Kahraman is a noted art director in Turkey.

    The film explores the stories of Mustafa Kahraman and Hatice Kahraman who are looking for their mother tongues. They lived in Turkey but spoke another ethnic tongue, Zazaca, that is native to their region. They are searching for answers through this existential question.

    The film is supported by Culture Ministry (www.sinema.gov.tr). It is produced by Motiva Film (www.motivafilm.com).
