FNE at Adana Golden Boll Film Festival 2010 National Competition: There

    There, directed by Melik Saracoglu and Hakki Kurtulus, is a drama about a father and his two estranged sons who reunite following the death of their mother. The film was released in Turkey on 26 January, 2009, taking in box office of 20,000 Turkish Liras.

    It had its world premiere in the Ghent film festival's international competition, going ot to screenings at festivals in Bratislava, Amiens, and Shanghai, and earning a Best New Director award at the Ankara Film Festival.

    The directors say the film is primarily influenced by Ingmar Bergman. They are currently in preparation of a Bergman documentary.

    The independent film stars Sinan Tuzcu who played Ataturk in Veda (Goodbye), Dolunay Soysert who played Ataturk's wife in The Republic (Cumhuriyet) in 2008 and veteran actor Erol Gunaydin.

    The film is produced by Ikı Film (www.ikifilm.com) which was founded by the two first-time directors. The distributor is Ozen Film (www.ozenfilm.com) which has the leading share of Turkish films in the industry.
