FESTIVALS: FNE at Istanbul IFF 2011: White as Snow

    White as Snow, the feature film directing debut of Selim Gunes, competes in the national competition at Istanbul after receiving awards at two previous Turkish festivals. It received the Best Music award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival and the Special Award, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and Best Newcomer - Scriptwriter Award at the Ankara Film Festival.

    {mosimage}White as Snow was shot in the Black Sea Region of Turkey on 35 mm camera. It had its world premiere on October 2010, at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, and then traveled to international festivals, gathering good reviews along the way.

    The film tells the story of a little boy who struggles in a poor village. The film is adapted by famous Turkish author Sabahattin Ali's short story Ayran.

    The film is produced by Agustos Film (www.agustosfilm.com).

    White as Snow will be released in Turkey on 13 May 2011, distributed by Turkey's leading distribution company, Tiglon (www.tiglon.com.tr). The world distributor is Insomnia World Sales.
