Slovak Films Busy in October

    Dear Colleagues, Friends,

    Autumn is very busy for all of us, and also for Slovak films internationally. We are very happy about is, and would like to share with you the events and places where you can meeti with our cinema these days:

    BFI London

    The successful Slovak title and the Slovak national Oscar nominee MADE IN ASH (dir. Iveta Grófová, 2012), world-premieres at 47th Karlovy Vary IFF , running in Slovak cinemas at the moment, will be presented at BFI London in a section aiming to surprise, argue and scrutinize: Debate. The film will be personally presented by the director Iveta Grófová.

    CinEast Luxembourg

    In Luxembourg, within CinEast film festival we are also presenting MADE IN ASH in the competition section, as well as commemorate 50th anniversary of the Czechoslovak New Wave classic THE SUN IN A NET (dir. Štefan Uher, 1962).

    In the Back to the Roots section two Slovak films will be screened: GYPSY (dir. Martin Šulík, 2011) and ALOIS NEBEL (dir. Tomáš Luňák, 2011). The Luxembourg audience will also be able to watch some of the most successful short films from the last two years.

    Alexandra Strelková will attend the first edition of the workshop CinEast Pro on Monday, Oct. 15.

    Warsaw Film Festival

    In Warsaw, you´ll be able to see Juraj Nvota´s CONFIDENT in the International Competition, presented in its international premiere and the Czech-Slovak co-production documentary THE GREATEST WISH by Olga Špátová in the Documentary Competition. Co-production titles DONT STOP(dir. Richard Řeřicha, 2012) and AFTERMATH (dir. Władysław Pasikowski, 2012) will be shown as Special Screenings.

    Katarína Tomková will attend CenTeast Warsaw.
