The carefully designed three-day program includes presentations of Montenegrin film projects in various stages of development, Q&A sessions, workshops with distinguished professionals from the industry, and discussions with representatives of film funds to explore new co-production opportunities.
Over two sessions on August 25th and 26th, Montenegrin filmmakers will present 21 projects ranging from script development to post-production. Participants will have the chance to showcase their work to key European film fund representatives, including Eurimages, the French National Centre for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC), the Austrian Film Institute, and Turkey’s national broadcaster TRT. This presents a unique opportunity for filmmakers to build connections with influential institutions, open doors for co-productions, and secure essential financial support.
The event also includes a masterclass led by the acclaimed director Goran Marković, panel discussions with representatives of European film funds, and a special session with a Eurimages representative. Additionally, participants can attend talks on film sales, production and festivals. With representatives from prestigious film festivals such as Berlinale, Rotterdam, and Tallinn Black Nights in attendance, Montenegrin filmmakers will have the opportunity to present their projects to key figures in the European film industry.
Montenegro Film Rendezvous is designed to nurture a lasting bond between the Montenegrin, regional, and European film industries. By actively integrating Montenegro into the European audiovisual landscape, this initiative aims to elevate the standards of the local film industry and raise European film professionals’ awareness of local industry, authors, and professionals.
The participation of esteemed film professionals from across Europe will offer Montenegrin filmmakers valuable opportunities for career development, enabling them to network with European film institutions and experts, and enhance their projects through all stages of development, production and distribution.
This event is an initiative of the Film Centre of Montenegro, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Municipality of Herceg Novi, and JUK Herceg Fest, which also produces the Herceg Novi – Montenegro Film Festival.
