FNE at Scanorama: Lithuania Wins Scanorama New Baltic Cinema Short Film Competition
Lithuania 16-11-2015VILNIUS: The Lithuanian short Bridges (2015) by director Austėja Urbaitė won the best film prize in the New Baltic Cinema competition of the Scanorama film festival which concluded in Vilnius on 15 November 2015.
VILNIUS: Director Kristijonas Vildžiūnas is completing work on his fourth feature film Seneca’s Day / Senekos Diena‚ a journey into the past as a man tries to change his present.
VILNIUS: Director Donatas Ulvydas and producer Živilė Gallego are shooting the feature film Emilia on location in Lithuania. The theatrical release is planned for 2017.

VILNIUS: Giedrė Žickytė won best documentary film, best cinematography, best editing and best director for the documentary Master and Tatyana at the eigth Lithuanian Film and TV Silver Crane Awards held on 30 May 2015. The Lithuanian/French coproduction Summer of Sangaile by Alantė Kavaitė won in three categories.
VILNIUS: Zivile Gallego has received her MA degree in European Affaires Management at South Bank University, London and Leonardo da Vinci University, Paris. She took filmmaking course at New York Film Academy branch in Los Angeles.
VILNIUS: The Lithuanian Film Centre will grant 32,700 EUR for the preproduction of two feature films directed by Ernestas Jankauskas and Linas Ryškus.

VILNIUS: A six-part television series based on Leo Tolstoy‘s novel War and Peace has begun filming in Vilnius. The series is being made by BBC Cymru Wales Drama, in partnership with The Weinstein Company and BBC Worldwide/Lookout Point.
