PRAGUE: The Czech government has approved an amendment to the audiovisual law that will increase transparency and pump up to 200m CZK more into the film industry.

KARLOVY VARY: Anca Damian’s Magic Mountain screens in the main competition of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival this year. 

BUCHAREST: Igor Cobileanski (The Unsaved) will start shooting a new feature, Eastern Business, mid-July 2015. This dark comedy is the first Romanian/Lithuanian coproduction to date.

PARIS: Lithuanian and French ministers of culture Šarūnas Birutis and Fleur Pellerin signed an agreement on film coproduction in Paris to facilitate cooperation between Lithuanian and French filmmakers.

KARLOVY VARY: Europa Distribution will have a general assembly at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF).  Europa Distribution, in partnership with KVIFF and the LUX Prize has set up a panel to enable an in-depth evaluation of the current VOD market and digital opportunities and threats. 

KARLOVY  VARY: Jihlava IDFF and Karlovy Vary IFF (KVIFF) will introduce once again the most creative documentary projects from the CEE countries on 7 July 2015 at 14:00 at Barrandov Studios Villa. 

KARLOVY VARY: George Ovashvili's astonishing psychological drama is one of the three case studies presented at the FNE Coproduction Event on Wednesday 8 July in Karlovy Vary.

SARAJEVO: A total of 14 projects and three guest projects have been selected to CineLink,  the co-production market of Sarajevo International Film Festival (14-22 August 2015). The projects are directed by Aida Begić, Erol Mintas and Tinatin Kajrishvili among others.

ŽILINA: We Can't Live Without Cosmos by Konstantin Bronzit has won the Anča Award at the 8th edition of Fest Anča International Animation Festival (24-28 June 2015). 

TRENČIANSKE TEPLICE: Jayro Bustamante's debut feature Ixcanul won the Blue Angel Award at the 23th Art Film Fest (19-26 June 2015), the main film event in Slovakia.
