BUCHAREST: Romanian director Alina Grigore is currently in preproduction with her sophomore feature Final Deliberation / Juriul, starring Academy Award–winner Melissa Leo alongside Romanian actors Vlad Ivanov and Dana Rogoz. Gabi Suciu of Romania’s Atelier de Film is producing.

ZAGREB: The shooting of the Sci-Fi fantasy thriller Štriguni (working title) by Croatian director/screenwriter Aldo Tardozzi has started in Završje (Istria).

BERLIN: Romanian producer Ada Solomon is the new chair of the Board of the European Film Academy, as Mike Downey’s term has come to an end. Her new deputy chairs are Dutch producer Leontine Petit and French consultant Matthieu Darras.

LJUBLJANA: The best new short animated films from Central and Eastern Europe are running in the Main Competition of the 22nd Animateka Festival, taking place in Ljubljana from 1 to 7 December 2025. 

TALLINN: Estonian actor Priit Võigemast and Georgian actress Tinatin Dalakishvili play the leads in acclaimed Estonian director Veiko Õunpuu’s new film Serafima, a story of moral choices and survival under authoritarianism in Soviet Estonia.

BERLIN: Agnieszka Holland’s Franz received two new nominations at the 38th European Film Awards in the European Costume Designer and European Make-up & Hair Artist categories.

PODGORICA: Slovenian director Nina Tratnik has wrapped shooting on her debut feature Fires / Pozari on 14 November 2025. The producer and coproducers of this Montenegrin/Albanian/Serbian coproduction are all women, starting with Bojana Radulović of Montenegrin Code Blue Production.
