ZAGREB: The Bulgarian/German coproduction Blaga's Lessons / Urotcite na Blaga directed by Stephan Komandarev has been selected as Bulgaria’s candidate for the 96th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.

VILNIUS: Twelve short film projects from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, alongside guest country Greece, have been selected for the 11th edition of the Baltic Pitching Forum (BPF), which will be held in Vilnius 10 – 13 October 2023.

PRAGUE: Hungarian film director Béla Tarr will teach FAMU students in master’s and doctoral programme for a full semester starting at the end of September 2023.

BERLIN: The second round of applications for the 20th Arthouse Cinema Training is open. The intensive one-week programme for arthouse and independent exhibitors will be held in Berlin 30 October – 5 November 2023.

BANJA LUKA: The documentary-media art film festival and educational platform Cinema Parallels has chosen for its 4th edition the theme Documenting Realities: The Facto Fiction Films. Cinema Parallels starts in Banja Luka on 6 September and will wrap on 9 September 2023.

BUCHAREST: The 9th edition of the Bucharest International Dance Film Festival (BIDFF, 7 – 10 September 2023) is built around the theme of Clusters and is structured into five sections, conceived as “clusters”: Films, VR, Expand, Community, and, for the first time, Exchange.

BUDAPEST: The 6th edition of the Budapest Classics Film Marathon, organised by the National Film Institute – Hungary, will screen over 100 films in various locations in Budapest from 12 to 17 September 2023.
