BRATISLAVA / RIGA: Laila Pakalniņa's Dawn / Ausma is Latvia’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 89th Academy Awards, while Marko Škop’s debut feature Eva Nová is the Slovak contender in the same category.

LJUBLJANA: The docu-fiction Houston, We Have a Problem! by Žiga Virc is Slovenia‘s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 89th Academy Awards. The film is a Slovenian/Croatian/German coproduction.

TALLINN: Zero Point by Estonian director Mihkel Ulk will be released in Autumn 2016 by VoD distributor Under the Milky Way in all territories of the European Union, subtitled in 24 official languages through the Creative Europe supported Working (Sub) Title action.

The Film New Europe Association is main networking platform of professionals in the Central and Eastern Europe and Baltic region. The FNE Association board is made up of the heads of the most important film institutions in the region.

COTTBUS: Ten projects selected from a record number of submissions will vie for the top spot at the East-West co-production market at the FilmFestival Cottbus on 10-11 November 2016. The selection was made from among over 120 submissions from 35 countries.
