BITOLA: Judith Kaufmann, the cinematographer of the German film Teacher’s Lounge / Das Lehrerzimmer directed by Ilker Çatak, received the Golden Camera 300 at the 45th edition of the International Cinematographers' Film Festival Manaki Brothers. The festival took place in Bitola, North Macedonia from 21 to 27 September 2024.

SKOPJE: The Hungarian/Bhutanese coproduction Agent of Happiness directed by Arun Bhattarai and Dorottya Zurbó received the Onion Award for Best Film in the main competition of the 15th edition of the MakeDox Creative Documentary Film Festival (15 – 22 August 2024).

SKOPJE: North Macedonia will not be submitting a film for the 97th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category. The decision was confirmed by the Macedonian Film Professionals Association (DFRM), the organisation responsible for the country's Oscar submissions.

SKOPJE: The Macedonian Government appointed Daniela Stankovska-Plachkovska as the new acting director of the North Macedonia Film Agency on 30 July 2024. She is replacing Vladimir Angelov, who resigned from the position he'd held since 6 February 2024.

OHRID: The Dutch drama Milk / Melk directed by Stefanie Kolk won the Large Wave Award for Best Film at the 7th edition of the Beach Film Festival. The festival was held in Ohrid, North Macedonia, from 17 to 21 July 2024, supported by the North Macedonia Film Agency.

SKOPJE: The Israeli production The City directed by Amit Ulman won the Golden Star in the Official Competition of the 23rd Cinedays Festival of European Film, which took place 11 - 17 July 2024.

SKOPJE: Zoran Ljutkov is the new Minister of Culture and Tourism in North Macedonia, as a new coalition Government, led by PM Hristijan Mickoski, has been appointed. Ljutkov is replacing Bisera Kostadinovska-Stojcevska.

SKOPJE: A total of 17 Macedonian films, which premiered in the past year, were screened free of charge at the 6th edition of Golden Frame, held from 18-20 June 2024 in two locations in Skopje.

SKOPJE: Iranian film Terrestrial Verses by Ali Asgari and Alireza Khatami won the Golden Owl Award for Best Feature Film at the 14th Philosophical Film Festival, which took place in Skopje, North Macedonia.

SKOPJE: Macedonian director Srđan Janićijević has started shooting his debut feature Butcher´s Dance / Kasapsko oro in the Macedonian capital of Skopje. The film is produced by Novo Makedonsko Video and New Moment, and it is supported by the North Macedonia Film Agency.
