SKOPJE: First time director Eleonora Veninova is in the last stage of editing with Sabattier Effect / Preeksponirano, produced by Goce Kralevski through DNF Films. This Macedonian/Serbian coproduction is the first Macedonian film that was shot under the COVID-19 safety guidelines for filming in 2020.

SKOPJE: The children series Zoki Poki has been sold to the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS). The rights for the series were also acquired for Denmark and Finland, in addition to the Swedish broadcaster SVT and its Norwegian counterpart NRK.

SKOPJE: The debut feature by Goce Cvetanovski The Day of the Woman / Denot na zenata, produced by White River Films, is currently in postproduction and opting for a physical festival premiere in the autumn/winter of 2021.

SKOPJE: The Ukrainian director Simon Mozgovyi finished shooting his debut feature Chrysanthemum Day in North Macedonia. Macedonian Opium Production handled the local production services.

SKOPJE: Most cinemas in North Macedonia closed their doors on 6 April 2021 following the Government's decision to impose additional restrictive measures until 20 April to curb COVID-19 infections.

SKOPJE: The North Macedonia Film Agency distributed 1.23 m EUR / 75.7 m MKD for production grants for feature, short and documentary films within the second grant call of 2020. The grants were awarded later than usual because the agency was without a director from August to December 2020.

SKOPJE: Willow / Vrba by the acclaimed Macedonian director Milcho Manchevski was released on VOD in Europe on 20 March 2021 on HBO Go and Cinemax 2.

SKOPJE: Macedonian director Darijan Pejovski is currently in postproduction with his second feature film Mimi, which he shot from 13 October to 16 November 2020. The film is produced by Tomi Salkovski through Skopje Film Studio in coproduction with Croatia and Kosovo.

SKOPJE: Behind the Haystacks, a Greek/Macedonian/German coproduction, filmed on both sides of the Greece – North Macedonia border, has entered the postproduction stage. The debut by Asimina Proedrou received support from the North Macedonia Film Agency, Greek Film Center and Eurimages.

SKOPJE: The British distributor Videoplugger has sold the Macedonian live-action kids’ series Zoki Poki to Swedish broadcaster SVT and its Norwegian counterpart NRK.
