WARSAW: Grzegorz Jonkajtys is in preproduction with a full-feature animated film inspired by one of the most popular Polish children's programmes, Floppy Bear. The production of this 3D stop motion animated film is set to launch in 2017.

WARSAW: The Polish Film Institute introduced significant staff changes this week with Head of International Relations Izabela Kiszka-Hoflik moving to Head of the Film Production Department.

WARSAW: Polish Film Institute and Polish Filmmakers Association (SFP) celebrated the 90th anniversary of Andrzej Wajda on 6 March 2015 by a special gala, while several festivals, exhibitions and art projects are held all over Poland.

WARSAW: The Guild of Polish Directors including Andrzej Wajda, Agnieszka Holland and Wojciech Smarzowski and a group of over 100 film critics have signed a protest letter to Jacek Kurski the President of public broadcaster TVP over materials broadcast before the screening of 2015 Oscar winner Ida that they claim “branded” the film with an ideological interpretation.

WARSAW: Lech Majewski will start shooting the adult fantasy Valley of the Gods in March 2016. The film is a Polish/American coproduction starring Josh Hartnett, Charlotte Rampling and John Rhys-Davies, which will be shot in Poland, Italy and Utah, USA.

WARSAW: Agnieszka Holland has wrapped the third and final stage of the shoot for her crime thriller Game Count, a coproduction between Poland, Czech Republic, Germany and Sweden.

WARSAW: Polish director Władysław Pasikowski is working on a new historical thriller about Jan Nowak-Jeziorański, one of the most notable resistance fighters of the Home Army during WWII. The shooting of Courier (working title) will launch in 2017.
