WARSAW: Demon, Marcin Wrona's adaptation of Piotr Rowiecki's play about a paranormal case, will screen in the main competition of the 25th Cottbus Film Festival running 3-8 November 2015, following its international premiere at the Toronto Film Festival and its screening in the competition of the 40th Gdynia Film Festival.

KRAKOW: A Polish court has decided that the US claim to extradite Roman Polański from Poland is unwarranted. The decision, which is not legally binding, was announced on 30 October 2015. The prosecutor's office can appeal the ruling.

WARSAW: The new Director of Polish Film Institute Magdalena Sroka said that Poland needs film tax incentives and added that she plans to introduce a financial model to encourage business funding for films.

WARSAW: Acclaimed Polish director and President of the Polish Filmmakers Association Jacek Bromski has joined the National Development Council created by the Polish President Andrzej Duda. KATOWICE: Wooma, a live action feature with animated elements based on a comic book by Karol Kalinowski, was presented at the Look For Fund event held at the 6th International Film Festival REGIOFUN.

KATOWICE: The Spanish drama Marshland directed by Alberto Rodriguez won the first prize in the Feature Film Competition at the 6th International Festival of Film Producers in Katowice (20 -25 October 2015).

WARSAW: Polish Minister of Culture Małgorzata Omilanowska and New Zealand ambassador Wendy Hinton signed a coproduction agreement between both countries on 21 October 2015 in Warsaw.
