TALLINN: The Estonian/Armenian stop motion short film Winter in March directed by Natalia Mirzoyan continues to collect international awards and festival recognitions. Most recently, it has been chosen as a candidate for the European Film Awards European Short Film – Prix Vimeo 2027 by the Uppsala Short Film Festival.

SARAJEVO: The documentary Blum: Masters of Their Own Destiny by the Academy Award- nominee Jasmila Žbanić has been chosen as Bosnia and Herzegovina’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.

PODGORICA: The Tower of Strength / Obraz by Nikola Vukcević has been chosen as Montenegro’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.

BUDAPEST: The coming-of-age drama Orphan / Árva by Academy Award winner László Nemes has been selected as Hungary’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.

TBILISI: George Sikharulidze’s debut feature Panopticon / Panoptikoni has been chosen as Georgia’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category. The film is a coproduction between Georgia, France, Romania, and Italy.

VILNIUS: The highest grossing Lithuanian film of all time, The Southern Chronicles / Pietinia Kronikas by Ignas Miškinis, has been selected as Lithuania’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category. The film is a coproduction with Estonia.

BRATISLAVA: Tereza Nvotová’s third feature film Father / Otec has been selected as Slovakia’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category. The film is a coproduction between Slovakia, Poland and Czech Republic.

WARSAW: Agnieszka Holland’s Franz has been selected as Poland’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category. The film is a coproduction between Czech Republic, UK, Germany, France, and Poland.

LJUBLJANA: Urška Djukić’s debut feature Little Trouble Girls / Kaj ti je deklica has been chosen as the Slovenian candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category. The film is a coproduction between Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, and Serbia.

SKOPJE: The Tale of Silyan / Siljan by Tamara Kotevska has been chosen as the Macedonian candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category. The film is a coproduction between the USA, UK, and North Macedonia.

BUCHAREST: The Romanian Film Centre (CNC) has selected Traffic / Jaful secolului by Teodora Ana Mihai as Romania’s candidate for the 98th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the Best International Feature Film category.
