The organizers of the Zlín Film Festival are moving this year's event to September 4-10, 2020. They have made this decision based on the coronavirus pandemic. The 60th anniversary of the oldest and largest film festival for children and youth was originally scheduled to take place during its traditional period of the turn of May and June, namely May 29 to June 6, 2020. However, the organizers consider the September term to be more realistic. “It is to our extreme sorrow that this year children will not be able to celebrate both this festival and approaching end of the school year at our festival due to our postponing it. Instead of celebrating the end of the school year with children, we plan to welcome the beginning of the next one with them,” said Festival President Čestmír Vančura. The change of date will also affect the Clapperboard Salon
The Clapperboard Tour 2020 was set to start this week in Prague, which has been suspended for obvious reasons. “We are currently discussing an alternative date and form of the entire project, but we can now promise that this year's complete collection of clapperboards will soon be available at www.salonfilmovychklapek.cz,” said Markéta Pášmová, Member of the Board of Directors of the FILMTALENT Zlín Foundation.
