SOFIA: As part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Bulgarian cinema in 2015, Bulgarian National Television has opened a public vote for Best Bulgarian Film among 100 titles. The voting started on 1 March and will close on 18 March 2015.

Public media is also financing the exceptional live programme Bulgarian Cinema’s Unidentified Patent Leather Shoes, dedicated to Bulgarian cinema's anniversary. The name of the programme is inspired by Ranguel Valchanov’s classic 1979 film The Unknown Soldier's Patent Leather Shoes.

The first edition of the format, which was 180 minutes long, was broadcast on 1 March and was seen by over 300,000 people. During its last edition in June 2015 Bulgarian Cinema’s Unidentified Patent Leather Shoes will officially announce the audience choice of the Best Bulgarian film. In honour of the centenary, in 2015 Bulgarian National Television will broadcast 100 recognised national titles.
