FESTIVALS: Batumi Fest Adds Industry Section

    BATUMI, GEORGIA: The sixth Batumi International Art-house Film Festival (www.biaff.org) taking place from 17-24 September 2011, has selected 9 films for its international feature film competitions and ten films which will compete in the international documentary section. This year the festival launches the BIAFF Industry Meetings in cooperation of Georgian National Film Center (gnfc.ge).

    Taking place 21-23 September, the Industry Meetings will present producers and organizations including the European Film Academy (www.europeanfilmacademy.org), Hubert Bals Fund Rotterdam Film Festival (www.filmfestivalrotterdam.com), EAVE (www.eave.org), A. Wajda Film School (www.wajdaschool.pl), and the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl).

    In addition, the following six master classes will be held: Otar Iosseliani (Georgia) - Master class about Film directing; Dariush Mehrjui - Master class about Film directing and Iranian cinema; Georgi Djulgerov (Bulgaria) - Master class about Film directing and Eastern European cinema; Alexander Rekhviashvili & Rezo Chkhikvishvili - Master class about Film directing and acting ; and Henryk Gajewski (Netherlands) - "DAILY VIDEO".

    The festival opens with Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen and closes with Way to Home by Alexander Rekhviashvili.
