GRANTS: Latvia Announces Documentary Film Grants in 2015


    RIGA: National Film Centre of Latvia confirmed 114,501 EUR to six projects in the second documentary film grants session of 2015.

    The six winning projects include also productions that have already acquired support from the National Film Centre of Latvia in the previous grants session, including Ceļš uz Akakori by Mārtiņš Grauds and Zāģeri by Ivars Zviedris. All of the projects need to be completed by the end of 2016.

    The largest amount (38,000 EUR) was given to the film Cilvēki no nekurienes / Nowhere People by Jaak Kilmi and Gints Grūbe which is a Latvian/Estonian/German coproduction about a Soviet KGB agent who defects to the US with his daughter.

    The results were announced on 1 October 2015.
