Maltese productions, including many short films, had 15,159 admissions and cashed in 85,478 EUR in 505 screenings, according to the National Statistics Office (NSO).

The most popular film titles in cinemas in 2022 were Minions: The Rise of Gru, Top Gun: Maverick and Jurassic World: Dominion, amounting to 7.1%, 6.1% and 5.9% of total admissions, respectively. Jurassic World: Dominion was filmed in Malta and was one of the productions to benefit from the Malta financial incentives administered by the Malta Film Commission.

In 2022, six cinemas operated in Malta (of which two in Gozo) with 23 screens and 3,910 seats.
