Graduation and Toni Erdmann Nominated for the European University Film Award

    WROCLAW: Cristian Mungiu's Graduation and Maren Ade's Toni Erdmann are among the five films nominated for the European University Film Award (EUFA), which will be announced during the week of the European Film Awards set to take place in Wroclaw, Poland, European Capital of Culture 2016 on 10 December 2016.

    European University Film Award is a joint initiative of the European Film Academy (EFA) and Filmfest Hamburg. The five nominated films were chosen from a list of 50 feature films and 15 documentaries from the EFA Selections 2016, by a committee consisting of Feo Aladag (director/Germany), Dagmar Brunow (academic, Linnaeus University/Sweden), Luis Martinez Lopez (journalist, El Mundo/Spain) and Patrick Sobelman (producer/France).


    The nominated films will be discussed at 13 universities in 13 countries and each institution will select its favourite film. In early December, one student representative from each university will attend a two-day deliberation meeting to decide on the overall winner.
