The film is set in 1999, during the bombing of Yugoslavia, when a family faces the decision of whether or not to emigrate to Canada. The husband’s decision to stay in Serbia and join the military ends up splitting the family.

The film will be the feature debut of the director, whose previous film, a short dramatic comedy, won Best Balkan Film at the Tirana IFF in 2017.

The film, which is in late development, has a budget of 771,000 EUR and has a Canadian coproducer, Art et Essai, attached. It was selected to participate in the 2018 MIDPOINT Feature Launch. The producers are hoping to find coproducers from France and the Czech Republic.
