Slovakia Announces New Call for Grant Applications


    BRATISLAVA: The Slovak Audiovisual Fund (www.avf.sk) has issued the fourth of its 2012 calls for grant applications. A total of 1,250,000 EUR is available in this round.


    The deadline for submitting projects is 20 September 2012. Grants will be awarded to Slovak films or films in which a Slovak coproducer has a minority share, and they are intended for the production of feature, documentary and animated films. Applications for development will be accepted only from debuting directors for films of 30 minutes or less.

    Development and distribution support is available through a separate permanent call for grant applications, which is open until 15 October 2012.

    Feature films will receive 870,000 EUR, with 250,000 EUR allocated for documentaries, 85,000 EUR for animated films and 45,000 EUR for debut and student films.

    Applicants may request a maximum grant of 1,200,000 EUR per project. Slovak minority films can request a  maximum of 500,000 EUR.
