FNE at IFF Bratislava: Family Film Screens in Bratislava Competition

    BRATISLAVA: Fresh off its best actor award at the Cottbus Film Festival, Olmo Omerzu’s Family Film will represent Slovakia at the 17th Bratislava IFF which runs 12-17 November 2015.

    The Macedonia/Kosovo coproduction Three Days in September, which also had a slot in the Cottbus competition, and Sparrows, a coproduction from Iceland, Denmark and Croatia, round out the CEE section of the feature film competition. Nine films have been selected for the main competition

    The documentary competition consisting of eight films includes two CEE films that have been getting attention: Chuck Norris vs Communism (UK/Romania/Germany, 4 Proof Film) directed by Ilinca Calugareanu; and Flotel Europa (Denmark/Serbia) directed by Vladimir Tomić. Slovakia gets its own spotlight once again with the Made in Slovakia section, consisting primarily of shorter films from Slovak directors. Slovak actress Emilia Vasaryova is the recipient of the festival’s special tribute evening.
