The documentary is about a 16-year-old Turkish female wrestler living in Siirt, an Eastern Anatolian city. The film follows her success story, set against her main problem: finding time for her school studies.
The film is the work of two young directors. The first is Inan Temelkuran who is known for Made in Europe and Bornova Bornova. Both films received several awards at previous Golden Boll and Golden Orange film festivals. The other is Temelkuran’s wife Kristen Stevens. Know My Name is their first long documentary.
The film is supported by Turkish Culture Ministry (www.sinema.gov.tr). It is produced by Temelkuran Film Muzik which is Inan Temelkuran’s own company.
