FNE Teams Up with Warsaw Kids Film Forum for Inspiration Day 2019: Polish Forum Expands as Kids Film Industry Matures
Poland 26-09-2019WARSAW: An expected 270 guests are attending the sixth edition of the Warsaw Kids Film Forum, a three-day international industry event running through 27 September 2019. The numbers of attendees has grown by some 30%, thanks in large part to a new sponsorship from FNE and Central European Initiative (CEI), WKFF Project Manager Zosia Horszczaruk told FNE.
KARLOVY VARY: Five CEE films were among the eight projects presented in Karlovy Vary IFF's Industry Days programme. They represent an impressive array of documentary talents from Romania, Poland, Latvia and the Czech Republic.
KARLOVY VARY: Masterfilm is producing the black comedy A Sensitive Man, the feature debut of writer/director Tomas Klein. The Czech film is planned as a coproduction with Slovakia’s Punchart Films and an additional partner.
KARLOVY VARY: The Croatian company Kinorama is in late development with writer/director Dubravka Turic’s debut feature film Traces. The project was presented by the director and by producer Ira Cecic during the Industry Days pitching forum at the Karlovy Vary IFF, which concluded on 6 July 2019.
KARLOVY VARY: Serbia’s Biberche Productions presented director Nikola Ljuca’s second film project Rattlesnakes during the Karlovy Vary IFF 2019 Industry Days. The drama is planned as a coproduction with Croatia and France, and the producers are looking for a Czech or Polish coproducer to join the project.
KARLOVY VARY: Pro-DIGI, z.s., a Czech company that was in the vanguard of digitalisation, is taking its goal of transforming the Czech cinema-going experience to the next stage by engaging directly with exhibitors. FNE met with Pro-DIGI founder Petr Vitek during the Industry Days at the Karlovy Vary IFF, which ran through 6 July 2019.
KARLOVY VARY: Georgian producer Elene Margvelashvili from Parachute Films and co-writer/co-director Konstantine Kalandadze presented their coming-of-age feature film project Grey Skies during the Karlovy Vary IFF's Industry Days programme.
KARLOVY: Montenegrin writer/director Ivan Bakrac and producer Ivan Djurovic presented their Montenegrin/Serbian work in progress After the Winter at the Karlovy Vary IFF's Eastern Promises pitching forum, taking place on 1 - 2 July 2019.
KARLOVY VARY: Film professionals gathered at the picturesque hillside Czech and Slovak industry party to fete the award winners of the Karlovy Vary IFF's Industry Days section, with a top prize of 100,000 EUR going to the Russian/Moldavan work in progress Pigeon’s Milk directed by Eugen Maryan.
KARLOVY VARY: First Cut Lab, Trieste FF’s When East Meets West (WEMW), Karlovy Vary IFF, MIDPOINT and Less Is More (LIM) are joining forces on First Cut+, a new workshop programme that prepares films to be launched on the market.
