VALLETTA: Admissions in cinemas in Malta and Gozo in 2021 were 269,763, of which 11,938 admissions were for Maltese films (mostly short films).

WARSAW: Disney+ will launch in a number of countries on 14 June 2022, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.

KARLOVY VARY: A total of 35 projects have been selected for the Eastern Promises industry platform of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, whose 56th edition will take place 1-9 July 2022.

BUCHAREST: The acclaimed and active Romanian director Radu Jude will release some of his most recent short films in domestic cinemas under the title Almanac Cinema: Six Short Films / Almanah cinema: Șase filme scurte on 1 July 2022.

KVIFF Eastern Promises industry platform unveils 35 selected film projects which will be showcased at the Works in Progress, Works in Development – Feature Launch, First Cut+ Works in Progress and Odesa International Film Festival Works in Progress presentations. The most promising projects will receive awards in a total value of 125,000 EUR.

CLUJ-NAPOCA: Ten titles have been selected for the What’s Up, Doc? documentary competition programme, which will award for the first time a prize for Best Documentary. The 21st Transilvania IFF (TIFF) will take place in Cluj-Napoca 17-26 June 2022.

For the first time in the history of the Transilvania International Film Festival, the 21st edition
of the event will include a competition dedicated to documentary film. 10 unique works by first and
second feature-length documentary filmmakers from all over the world will compete this year for the
What's up, doc? award, which has become increasingly popular with TIFF audiences in recent years.
