FNE together with Europa Distribution is launching a new chapter of the Distributor of the Month section. The festival "A l’Est, du Nouveau" is back from April 11th to April 18th 2014 for its ninth edition at the Ariel cinema in Mont-Saint-Aignan and the Omnia cinema in Rouen, Normandy. It will present more than thirty films and host filmmakers from Armenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, and Serbia.
RIGA: The Latvian-Finnish coproduction of Viesturs Kairiss’s historical drama Chronicles of Melanie (Melanijas hronika) resumes shooting in April with another filming segment scheduled for August 2014.
PLZEN: Fourteen Czech and Slovak films will compete for the main Golden Kingfisher at the Plzen Finale Festival, running 27 April – 3 May 2014.
