BELGRADE: Film and TV producer Jakov Petrović has been appointed the new acting director of Film Center of Serbia. He officially took over the charge from Ivan Karl on 20 October 2025.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Predrag Ličina is currently in production with his sophomore feature The Virus of Pathological Kindness / Virus patološke dobrote, a Serbian/Croatian joint supported by the respective national film centres. Its premiere is already set for the World Kindness Day - 13 November, in 2026.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Miroslav Terzić is presently in postproduction with his third feature film Who Are We / Ko smo mi (aka The Excursion / Ekskuzija), which is a coproduction of Serbia, Luxembourg, Italy, Bulgaria and Croatia.

BELGRADE: Seasoned Serbian filmmaker Goran Radovanović is in production with his hybrid (fiction-documentary) feature Lubarda - May a Raven Befall Thy Home / Lubarda – na kuću ti gavran pao, on the great Serbian painter, Petar Lubarda. The film is a Serbian/Bulgarian coproduction, supported by the respective film centres.

BELGRADE: Young Serbian editor Jelena Maksimović has entered postproduction with her first feature film as a director, Until The Day Ends / Do kraja dana. The film is a coproduction of Serbia, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Slovenia.

BELGRADE: Serbian playwright and screenwriter Aleksandar Radivojević is currently in final postproduction with his debut feature Karmadonna / Karmadona. This independent production will have its world premiere in the Midnight Madness section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (4 – 14 September 2025).

BELGRADE: Serbian filmmaker Goran Stanković is prepping the feature film Our Father / Oče naš for its world premiere in the Discovery section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (4- 14 September 2025). The debut feature is a coproduction between Serbia, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

BELGRADE: The Golden Tower for Best Film in the Official Selection of the 32nd European Film Festival Palić went to Sergei Loznitsa's Two Prosecutors. The film is a coproduction between France, Germany, the Netherlands, Latvia, Romania and Lithuania.

BELGRADE: Serbian helmer Jelena Bajić Jočić is currently in production with her sophomore feature Guardian of Icon of St. George / Čuvar ikone Svetog Đorđa. This Serbian/Bosnian “drama of tragic optimism” is expected to hit local cinemas in the autumn of 2025.

BELGRADE: Serbian six-part TV drama Absolute 100 / Apsolutnih sto will have its world premiere in the Special Screenings programme of the 59th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which kicks off on 4 July 2025.
