BELGRADE: Film Center Serbia has distributed 1,077,000 EUR / 126,286,250 RSD for the production of three feature films. New projects directed by Mirjana Karanović, Kosta Đorđević and Hadži-Aleksandrar Đurović received support.

BELGRADE: Prominent Serbian scriptwriter, director and university professor Srđan Koljević passed away on 8 July 2023 at 56, after a long battle with a disease.

BELGRADE: The long documentary Warm Film / Topli film, focusing on queer representation in Yugoslav and Serbian cinema, is in the final stages of postproduction. The film is directed by Dragan Jovićević and co-directed by Nikola Ljuca.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Miroslav Lekić is currently shooting his seventh feature film Russian Consul / Ruski konzul, which is supported by Film Center Serbia.

BELGRADE: The Goverment of the Republic of Serbia has appointed Ivan Karl as acting director of Film Center Serbia (FCS). Karl is succeeding Gordan Matić, who ran Film Center Serbia for one term, during the last four years.

BELGRADE: Paris-based Memento International has snatched Serbian director Vladimir Perišić’s sophomore feature Lost Country ahead of its world premiere within the 62nd Critics Week at the 76th edition of Cannes Film Festival. This coproduction between France, Serbia, Luxembourg and Croatia stars Quo Vadis, Aida?'s Jasna Đuričić.

BELGRADE: Young Milena Grujić (born in 1994) is the first Serbian director to helm an American action film. She is currently directing Catalyst Studios’ Hitwoman, an English-speaking film shot in Serbia with an international cast. The production plans to apply for Serbia’s tax rebate scheme.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Nemanja Ćeranić is currently shooting his sophomore feature Sunday / Nedelja, a biopic focusing on the life of the popular Serbian folk singer Džej Ramadanovski (1964-2020). Film Center Serbia is supporting the project.
