BUCHAREST: FNE spoke to Romanian producer/director Tudor Petremarin, founder of the Romanian production house Fulg Media Productions, about the Creative Romanian FilmMakers project, which took part in the Market of the Cannes Film Festival 2024, as well as the Romanian film industry and its relaunched cash rebate scheme.

FNE together with German Films is launching the Year of German Central European Films 2024 with a special focus on German films in Central and Eastern European countries plus Cyprus and Malta, as well as FNE partner countries’ films screening in Germany. This action takes place within the frames of the celebrations of 70 Years of German Films.

TALLINN: Estonian director/writer Eeva Mägi took her new feature film Mo Papa to the Marché du Film Goes to Cannes. The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival was among the 2024 partners of the showcase alongside film festivals from Australia, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Argentina and Taiwan.

TBILISI: Georgian writer/director Ana Urushadze is currently in postproduction with her second feature film Supporting Role, which is a Georgian/Estonian/Turkish/Swiss/American coproduction.

BUDAPEST: The Hungarian director Dénes Orosz is currently in production with his feature film How Could I Live Without You? (working title) / Hogyan tudnék élni nélküled?, a romantic musical based on the evergreen hits by Ferenc Demjén, one of Hungary’s most iconic musical artists, whose concerts still fill up the biggest arenas.

TALLINN: The first international territories where the Estonian/German/Latvian/Lithuanian trilogy Melchior: The Apothecary by Elmo Nüganen was sold by Global Screen are France, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. In Estonia the trilogy had almost 300,000 admissions.
