FNE's Georgian correspondent and film critic Alexander Gabelia spoke to Diana Nenadić, artistic director of Croatian Film Days, about the 31st edition of the Croatian Film Days / Dani hrvatskog filma, which is taking place in a physical format 10-14 May 2022 in Zagreb, in compliance with the state regulations regarding the safety of participants.

TBILISI: Classic Georgian director/writer Lana Gogoberidze, who was the guest of honour at the 22nd edition of goEast with a retrospective of 10 of her films, is currently editing a new project. The long documentary Returning to Life is dedicated to her mother, Nutsa Gogoberidze, who was the first Georgian female film director.

TBILISI: Georgian director Ana Barjadze is currently in production with her long film, the documentary Bitter Sugar. This is a universal and intimate story about the unique bond between brothers, and about children abandoned by parents who are forced to work abroad.

TBILISI: The Georgian National Film Center has allocated 169,312 EUR / 550,267 GEL for the production of one debut feature, Worker, which will be directed by Giorgi Kobalia.

Central and eastern Europe is one of the most important locations for global games developers and studios, and artists in the region are increasingly working for both film and games. TBILISI: Admissions to domestic films increased in Georgia from 2,000 in 2020 to approximately 10,000 in 2021, while total admissions increased from 230,160 in 2020 to approximately 560,000 in 2021.
