TBILISI: The Georgian National Film Center distributed  47,259 EUR / 189,036 GEL for the development of 13 documentary films to be directed by Mariam Natroshvili, Tamar Karumidze, Levan Shubashvili, Tamar Mshvenieradze, Ana Kvichidze, Mariam Khachvani, Salome Jashi, Davit Chikadze, Zurab Inashvili, Tatia Akhalshenishvili, Sophio Medoidze, Vaja Zubashvili and Guram Megrelishvili.

TBILISI: Georgian siblings and film directors Khvicha and Tinatin Emiridze are currently in postproduction with their long documentary debut Respublika. The first shoot took place in July 2018 in Georgia.

KUTAISI: The First edition of the Kutaisi International Short Film Festival, in partnership with the Georgian National Film Center and the Kutaisi Municipality,  has been postponed from 3 – 7 November 2020, to 3 - 7 May 2021, due to the deterioration of the pandemic situation in the region.

TBILISI: Tbilisi International Film Festival's Industry Platform is calling directors and producers to submit their projects to the international pitching forum Georgian-Baltic Bridge, which will be held online 30 November – 2 December 2020 within the 21st edition of the festival.

TBILISI: Georgian director Natia Nikolashvili is currently in pre-production with her first full length animated feature film Igi. The animation is produced by Vladimer Katcharava through 20 Steps Productions. The project won the CEE Animation Forum award for feature films. CEE Animation Forum, the leading pitching, financing and coproduction event focusing on the animation industry in the CEE region, was held online from 6 to 8 October 2020. The production team is seeking a coproducing and financial partner.

TBILISI: The notable Georgian film director, scriptwriter and actress Nana Djordjadze is currently in production with her feature film Forced Migration of the Butterflies. The first shoot of the four-season film took place from 27 August to 2 September 2020, and the next one lasted from 25 September to 6 October. The filming is scheduled to continue in winter, spring and summer sessions. The project is funded by the GNFC and produced by Jana Sardlishvili through Studio 99.

TBILISI: Georgian film director Nika Tsiklauri is currently in production with his long documentary The Five Views of the Caucasus, a 90 minute documentary film on the topics of culture, science, conservation and human stories.
