TBILISI:  Georgian director Ekaterine Chelidze is in postproduction with Dead Souls’ Vacation, a long documentary that she shot in Georgia in 2018. The film is produced by Konstantine Kalandadze and Elene Margvelashvili through Parachute Films.

TBILISI: FNE spoke with Gaga Chkheidze, the new director of the Georgian National Film Center, about his goals and the challenges facing Georgian cinema.

TBILISI: The Georgian National Film Center distributed 149,786 EUR / 449,359 GEL for the production of three low budget feature films directed by Giorgi Barabadze, Ekaterine Chelidze and Giorgi Ovashvili. The winners were chosen from among eight projects. The GNFC also distributed 366,666 EUR / 1,100,000 GEL for the production of four debut feature films.

TBILISI: Georgian director Lasha Tskvitinidze is currently in preproduction with his second feature film Field. His first feature film I Am Beso was considered by many Georgian film critics as a promising debut and a new statement in Georgian modern social cinema.

TBILISI: Georgian artist/director Tatia Skhirtladze has started shooting her long documentary The Encounter with co-director Anna Khazaradze as a coproduction between Austria, Georgia and Serbia.

TBILISI:  Georgian director Irakli Metreveli is in postproduction with Roma and the Camel Man, a long documentary that he shot in Georgia from 2017 to 2019. The film is produced by Nodar Nozadze through Pansionati.

TBILISI: Georgian director Alexandre Koberidze has started shooting his new feature film Wind Has Blown, A Woman Had a Thought about Her Silk Scarf as a coproduction between Germany and Georgia.

TBILISI: Georgian directors Tamta and Salome Khalvashi have begun postproduction on Adrift, a feature length documentary that they shot in Georgia in 2017 and 2018. The film is produced by Zaza Khalvashi whose film Namme is considered by many Georgian film critics as a pearl of modern Georgian cinema.

TBILISI: Georgian writer/director Giga Liklikadze is in postproduction with The Pig, his low-budget debut feature film shot in October 2017.

TBILISI: The Georgian National Film Center distributed 393,333 EUR / 1,180,000 GEL for the production of four international coproductions directed by Zaza Khalvashi, Giorgi Ovashvili, Rusudan Glurjidze and Aleksandre Koberidze.
