ŁÓDŹ: Łukasz Długołęcki from NUR has been selected to participate in the 2020 Emerging Producers programme for documentary film producers, which kicks off at the 23rd edition of the Ji.hlava IDFF, taking place 24-29 October 2019. FNE spoke with Łukasz Długołęcki about the issues facing documentary film producers.

WARSAW: Polish drama Corpus Christi directed by Jan Komasa opened in the number 2 spot at the Polish box office with 170,000 admissions over the 10 – 13 October 2019 weekend. The film has also been sold to 35 territories internationally so far through sales rep New Europe Film Sales.

WARSAW: Janusz Kondratiuk, Polish director, creator of memorable comedies and younger brother of director Andrzej, to whose memory he devoted his last, famous film Like a Dog with a Cat, died on 7 October 2019 in Łoś near Warsaw. He was 76 years old.

WARSAW: The Canadian animated film Racetime directed by Benoît Godbout won the main audience award at the 6th Kids Kino International Film Festival. A record number of over 28,000 viewers visited the nine-day festival, which took place in 23 cinemas across Poland. The festival concluded on 29 September 2019.

WARSAW: A Coach’s Daughter, the drama by Łukasz Grzegorzek exploring a tumultuous father-daughter relationship, will premiere in Norway, Denmark and Sweden distributed by Coolture and Norge. The world sales are managed by IKH Promotion.

WARSAW: Proceder, a drama directed by Michał Węgrzyn, will screen in the main competition of the 35th Warsaw Film Festival, running from 11 to 21 October 2019. The film will open in Polish cinemas on 15 November 2019 distributed by Dystrybucja Mówi Serwis.

WARSAW: Lech Majewski’s adult fantasy Valley of the Gods will screen in the main competition of the 35th Warsaw Film Festival, running from 11 to 21 October 2019. The film is a coproduction between Poland, Luxemburg and the USA.
