WROCŁAW: Five recently completed Polish films including new titles from Anna Jadowska, Maciej Sobieszczański and Paweł Maślona will be screened during the Polish Days programme, taking place within the T-Mobile New Horizons IFF (3-13 August 2017).

WARSAW: Polish public broadaster TVP is currently in postproduction with a new original series City of Treasures, starring Magdalena Różdżka and Magdalena Popławska. The series will premiere in September 2017.

WARSAW: The upcoming sale of Scripps Networks Interactive by Discovery Communications for 14.6 m USD will have a major influence on the leading Polish private broadcaster TVN which is owned by Scripps Networks Interactive. The sale is planned to be finalized at the beginning of 2018.

GDYNIA: A total of 17 films will compete in the main competition of the 42th Gdynia Film Festival, set to take place from 18 to 23 September 2017.

WARSAW: Polish private broadcaster TVN commissioned the first season of Diagnosis, a new medical drama planned to premiere in autumn 2017. Popular Polish actors will star.

WARSAW: Polish director Marek Koterski is currently shooting 7 Emotions / 7 uczuć, with an all-star cast including Marcin Dorociński, Maja Ostaszewska, Andrzej Chyra, Robert Więckiewicz, Katarzyna Figura and Magdalena Cielecka.

WARSAW: Polish public broadcaster (TVP) is currently in production with Crown of Kings, a major costume TV series directed by Wojciech Pacyna about the life of Casimir III the Great. The show is a local attempt to tap into the costume drama soap opera genre which became very popular in Poland thanks to the Turkish production The Magnificent Century: Kösem, a big hit for TVP in 2016. 

WARSAW: Polish Film Institute distributed 618,200 EUR / 2.6 m PLN to 13 documentaries, including new projects by Marcel Łoziński and Radka Franczak. 

The following production grants have been announced on 19 July 2017.

WROCŁAW: Five completed works, nine works in progress and 11 new projects will be presented in the Polish Days from 8 to 10 August 2017, during the 17th T-Mobile New Horizons IFF.  Polish Days is organized annually by T-Mobile New Horizons IFF in cooperation with the Polish Film Institute.
