WARSAW: Andrzej Wajda's last production, the biopic drama Afterimage, premiered in the US on 19 May 2017 distributed by Film Movement. The film has already been sold to Canada, France, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary and Bulgaria.

WROCŁAW: The Wrocław Film Commission chose five projects to support with coproduction grants totaling 1.1 m PLN / 277,500 EUR, including new films from Borys Lankosz, Agnieszka Smoczyńska and Jan Jakub Kolski.

WARSAW: Israeli director and screenwriter Hagar Ben-Ashar has begun the process of casting young actors for her new drama The War Has Ended. Production is planned to begin in the spring of 2018.

WARSAW: Producer on the Move Maria Blicharska, co-founder of the Polish company Donten & Lacroix Films, is a seasoned film professional experienced in international coproduction. She is the Polish coproducer of Frost directed by Sharunas Bartas, which will premiere in Cannes Director's Fortnight 2017.

WARSAW: Agora S.A. has transferred all of its film production and coproduction activities to its subsidiary distribution company NEXT FILM.

WARSAW: Podlasie SlowFest, a new initiative from Roman Gutek, organised by the New Horizons Association and Gutek Film, will take place from 1 June to 17 September in Supraśl in the Podlasie region.
