Bordertown is an original 12-episodes prime time series telling the story of a top police detective who moves to his wife’s home town at the Finnish-Russian border after a family tragedy.

The series is created by the director/writer Miikko Oikkonen, known for his films Kuilu (2001) and Varaosat (2015). Matti Laine, Atro Lahtelaand Antti Pesonen are co-writers. The main character is played by the Finnish actor Ville Virtanen. The series also stars Anu Sinisalo and Matleena Kuusniemi.

Filming started on 15 February 2015 and took place in various locations around the Old Town of Vilnius, which replaced the Finnish town of Lappeenranta, as well as in St Petersburg.

The series is scheduled to air in Finland in March 2016.
